❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How does Apple HealthKit sync work?

HydroPulse connects directly with Apple HealthKit. When authorized, the app automatically writes your dietary water intake (Dietary Water) and reads your daily total to keep your streak and stats synchronized. You can toggle this permission anytime in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → HydroPulse.

2. How do I enable Dynamic Island and Lock Screen Live Activities?

Make sure Live Activities are enabled in your iOS system settings (Settings → HydroPulse → Live Activities → Allow Live Activities). Once enabled, HydroPulse will automatically display your live hydration progress on your Dynamic Island and Lock Screen throughout the day.

3. How does the "HydroPulse Lifetime Pro" purchase work?

"HydroPulse Lifetime Pro" is a one-time non-consumable purchase (no recurring monthly subscriptions). It permanently removes all advertising banners and interstitial videos, unlocks Lock Screen widgets, and provides lifetime streak protection.

4. How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open HydroPulse, tap the Settings tab, select Get Pro, and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the screen. As long as you are logged in with the same Apple ID, your Pro status will be instantly restored free of charge.

5. How are beverages like coffee, tea, soup, beer, or milk calculated?

HydroPulse utilizes the scientific Beverage Hydration Index (BHI) (Maughan et al.). While pure water has a hydration factor of 1.0, drinks like milk and coconut water provide prolonged hydration due to electrolytes, whereas drinks with caffeine or alcohol have a mild diuretic adjustment. Soup and broths also count toward your daily fluid intake.
